In addition to our printed menu, we offer daily soups and entrees, a fine selection of fresh pastries baked in-home, many quality teas including traditional Turkish tea fresh from the samovar, and the best cup of Turkish coffee in town!

Dine in an exotic atmosphere where you may sit at a table, on a divan, or in our popular floor seating area. Enjoy afternoon tea, food service every night until an hour before closing, and live music 2-3 nights a week.

We also provide in-house and take-out catering for your special events, and our bakery is pleased to offer special orders.

Silk Road Tea House hosts two ongoing gatherings of the Rifa’i   Marufu Order of America, a Sufi community. On Monday nights at 9:30 we meet to play traditional music, and on Wednesday nights at 9:30 we gather for an evening of music and discourse with Sherif Baba, a Turkish Sufi teacher. Everyone interested is encouraged to attend. Hu!

SOUPS

Turkish Red Lentil Soup
this soup, which is traditionally made and served by
dervishes throughout Turkey, is a satisfying, simple and
hearty soup of red lentils cooked with sautéed onion and garlic,

said that lentils increase one's humbleness, and Lord knows
we all need to do that!

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...

Ingredients may vary slightly according to availability and the mood of the cook.

We are happy to prepare smaller portions for children 12 and under when possible.

You are welcome to ask for reasonable substitutions.

For beverages, please consult the tea and coffee menus mounted on the wall, and the
chilled drink display inside the dessert case.

Select a dessert or snack from our pastry selection. Selection varies and all pastries are baked fresh in-house. We try to do fight by vegans, offering several choices of egg- and dairy-free sweets.

Most menu items are vegan unless ingredients specify cheese or yogurt. Please feel free to ask anyway.

Olives are food, not decoration. Please eat them. They have pits, so be careful. They are also expensive, and we can't recycle them, so please let us know if you don't want olives on the mezes or salads.

Please don't put your chewing gum on our dishes and trays. The proper place for
gum  is the trash can, or under the table if you must.

Red lentils do not stay red when cooked. This explains the color of the soup.

We thank you for busing your own table.
